LANSING, Mich. — The Lansing Police Department is investigating a shooting that sent a man to the hospital Friday morning.
Officers responded to a report of shooting in the 400 block of Cesar E. Chavez Avenue in Old Town around 1:40 a.m.
Lansing police confirm to Fox 47 that a man was taken to the hospital after being shot.
There's no word on the victim's condition at this time.
Lansing police say the investigation is in the preliminary stages but they do not believe the shooting was random and there is no threat to the public.
More information regarding the shooting is expected to be released later Friday.
