MASON, Mich. — A man who ran from Ingham County deputies and barricaded himself for hours in a barn has been sentenced to five years in federal prison.
Edward Rockwell Jr. was at the center of a two-day manhunt near Mason last summer.
He was charged with one count of felon in possession of a firearm, and one count of possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
His sentence includes an additional three years of supervision upon release from prison.
News 10 first told you about Rockwell last August when sheriff's officials briefly evacuated homes in the Holt area while they searched for him.
They say he dropped a gun and ran when officers approached him.
They'd responded to calls about a man peeking into windows of homes.
He was arrested the next day hiding in a barn.
His mother said he had PTSD from being in jail when he was younger and was afraid to go back.
