A semi truck driver has been sentenced in a rollover crash that killed two women in Jackson County in September 2014.
Circuit Court Judge John McBain sentenced 60-year-old Mark Fuess to 5 to 15 years in prison Wednesday.
A jury found him guilty in September 2016 of two counts of reckless driving causing death in the September 9, 2014 crash on U.S. 127 near Liberty Road that killed 42-year-old Kristine Wittlinger and 33-year-old Andrea Hicks.
The women were rear-ended by Fuess' semi truck while they were turn off U.S. 127 in Liberty Township. That shoved them into an oncoming car. Wittlinger and Hicks were pronounced dead at the scene.
"We are very pleased with Judge McBain's sentence. This was a tragic case," said Jackson County Prosecutor Jerry Jarzynka.
