Circuit Court Judge John McBain sentenced 60-year-old Mark Fuess to 5 to 15 years in prison Wednesday.

The women were rear-ended by Fuess' semi truck while they were turn off U.S. 127 in Liberty Township. That shoved them into an oncoming car. Wittlinger and Hicks were pronounced dead at the scene.

"We are very pleased with Judge McBain's sentence. This was a tragic case," said Jackson County Prosecutor Jerry Jarzynka.
