The man who tried to stab an Ingham County assistant prosecutor in a courtroom last August pleaded guilty to three felony charges Monday. Joshua Harding admitted to the following crimes:
- Assault with intent to commit murder
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Possession of a weapon in jail.
The assault charge carries a potential life sentence. The other two crimes are punishable by up to 5 years in prison. Harding will be sentenced on March 15.
He attacked Jonathan Roth just before the jury handed down a guilty verdict in a separate case. The jury was about to convict Harding of second-degree criminal sexual conduct. He was later sentenced to 19 years in prison for that crime.
