A 61-year old man had to have a crossbow bolt removed from his arm, after a hunter mistook him for a turkey.

It happened early Sunday morning in Jackson County when the victim and a friend were hunting turkeys on private land in Liberty Township.

He was treated at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital and is expected to live.

The sheriff's office will ask the prosecutor to charge the 51-year old man who fired the crossbow.
