A Jackson man accused of dragging and critically injuring a former high school quarterback with his car has been sentenced to probation.

26-year-old Justin Koeveleski was sentenced to one year in jail and three years probation, court records show.

He pleaded guilty to reckless driving causing serious injury and failing to stop at the scene of a crash causing serious injury back in January.

Koveleski was driving an SUV that approached LaJuan Bramletton Franklin Street last April and then took off once Bramlett stuck his head in the window.

Bramlett, a former star on the Jackson High School football team, was dragged more than 100 feet before he fell off.

Bramlett was on life support and put on a ventilator at University of Michigan hospital.

MLive reports he is currently undergoing treatment at a care facility.
