A man died after he lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree in Jackson County, Sunday evening.
The Jackson County Sheriff Office reports deputies responded to the crash on North Dearing Road near Michigan Ave. around 7:40 p.m.
The driver, a 29-year-old Spring Arbor man, was pronounced dead at the scene, the office says.
The sheriff’s office says the 1999 Pontiac sedan was traveling south on Dearing Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree on the east side of the roadway.
The driver was not wearing a seatbelt, and the office says speed appears to be a contributing factor to the crash.
Assisting on scene were Jackson Community Ambulance and Parma-Sandstone Fire.
The crash remains under investigation.
