One man is dead after being hit by a car while walking in Eaton County.
The accident happened around 10:30 p.m. Monday in northbound lanes of M-99.
The Eaton County Sheriff's Office says a vehicle, driven by a 42-year-old Eaton Rapids man, traveling North on M-99 hit another man in the roadway.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured. The 62-year-old male pedestrian, a resident of Eaton Rapids Township died of his injuries at the scene.
The north bound lane of M-99 between Columbia Highway and Bunker Highway was closed for approximately four hours. It is now reopen.
The incident is under investigation at this time. Speed or alcohol are not indicated as factors in the crash.
