JACKSON, Mich. — The Jackson man who police say caused a crash that killed child last year has now been charged in that child's death.
Court records show 19-year-old Kingston Skrzynski was arraigned Thursday on one felony count of reckless driving causing death and operating while intoxicated causing death.
Investigations say Skrzynski was speeding on the shoulder and passing vehicles of U.S. 127 in Liberty Township on August 26, 2018, when he rear-ended a van that was backing out of a private drive on Meridian Road.
The van rolled several times and a three-year-old girl was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead later at a hospital. Several people were injured in the accident, but all have since recovered.
Skrzynski faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
Records show he's due back in court next month.
