A man from Holt is awaiting trial on charges that he sexually assaulted at least four children, three of them younger than 13. Troy Milan has been arraigned on two counts of 1st Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct and five counts of 2nd Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct.
Court documents obtained by us show the investigation started in late June when Ingham County sheriff's deputies took a report that Milan sexually assaulted a child that was visiting his family's home.
In the "swear-to" used to obtain an arrest warrant, Detective Jody McGuire testified that Milan's wife said he admitted to assaulting that child and a neighbor's daughter. The neighbor's daughter told Detective McGuire that Milan on multiple occasions molested her while his son and her younger brother were in the room but unable to see what was happening.
A little more than two weeks after the first warrant was approved, Detective McGuire went back to 55th District Court Magistrate Mark Blumer with more details on the investigation.
The Detective testified that two more girls claimed Milan molested them.
A 14-year-old said Milan put his hand up her shirt in his children's bedroom while the kids were playing. She told her mother, who confronted Milan. He claimed it was an accident.
The final accuser and her mother often stayed with Milan's family on weekends when she was between 7 and 9 years old. She says Milan sexually assaulted her while her mother and Milan's wife went to a store.
Milan faces up to life in prison if convicted of the 1st Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct charge. He is due back in court on September 19.
