After a short pursuit, Michigan State Police officers arrested a man who they say was driving at a high rate of speed, swerving off the road and sideswiping other vehicles.

Jackson County’s Michigan State Police Post reports that motor carrier officers located the driver near Parma Township after receiving a be-on-the-lookout for the suspect vehicle. While the suspect was being transported to the Jackson County Jail, the MSP report he attempted to escape custody several times.

The suspect, a 28-year-old from Three Rivers, was arrested for fleeing, resisting arrest and operating while under the influence of a controlled substance.
