Man arrested in unarmed robbery, vehicular theft

A man is in jail after stealing a purse and leaving in a stolen vehicle Friday morning.

The purse was stolen at around 11:15 a.m. at Kroger on West Saginaw Highway in Lansing, according to the Eaton County Sheriff's Office.

The suspect knocked a woman down when he grabbed her purse and then took off in a stolen vehicle, according to a press release.

A Lansing Police Department officer found the man and the stolen vehicle in Lansing.

The man was taken back to Eaton County for questioning and is now in the Eaton County Jail.

The victim was not seriously injured.

Eaton County Sheriff’s Office coordinated with the Grand Ledge Police Department, Michigan State Police, Lansing Police Department, Kroger and Meijer security personnel, according to the release.
