A man is in custody after an armed robbery early this morning at the Shell gas station on Grand River Avenue in Meridian Township.
Just before 2 a.m., police say a male suspect held up the gas station. A weapon was shown but not used. Police say the man then fled in a stolen vehicle. He was spotted by Michigan State University police on East Michigan Avenue. Police tried to pull the suspect over, but he fled. After a short chase, the man was arrested in the 800 block of Prospect street in Lansing.
Police say he was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury. Police expect to release his identity once he has been arraigned.
