On Monday morning around 1:15 a.m., Lansing Police were sent to the 1600 block of Donora for a domestic violence situation.

When they arrived, they found an unresponsive 27-year-old woman had been hit by a car.

She was taken to a nearby hospital and is currently in critical but stable condition.

Officers were able to take 30-year-old, Douglas Aaron Schuster, from Lansing, who was the driver of the car, into custody a short time after the crash. He was the victim's boyfriend.

Police say they were having an argument in the street, the man in the car and the woman outside of it. At some point, the driver took off, hitting the victim.

After obtaining his description, along with the description of the car, officers were able to locate the man in the 300 block of Magnolia. He was arrested without incident.

Schuster's bond was set at $25,000.

His next court appearance is scheduled for May 10 at 1:45 PM.
