A 22-year-old man has been charged after a shot was fired at two Detroit police officers following a traffic stop on the city's west side.
The Wayne County prosecutor's office says Mack Sheckels III is expected to be arraigned Wednesday on felonious assault, carrying a concealed weapon, reckless use of a firearm, resisting police and other charges.
Police have said the officers pulled over a SUV about 8 p.m. Friday after the driver disobeyed a yield sign. A passenger got out of the rear seat and shot at them before trying to run away.
No officers were wounded and police did not return fire. They later arrested a man believed to have fired the shots.
Three other people in the vehicle were arrested on outstanding warrants.
