Lumen Christi Catholic School in Jackson County has announced random drug testing will be done on students in grades 9 through 12.
The testing will begin next month and be done using hair. Students will be randomly selected by their student id numbers
Lumen says student safety is a motivating factor. Lansing Catholic High School already drug tests its students.
Both Lumen and Lansing Catholic are private schools, making the drug testing legal.
Information sessions on the drug testing are scheduled for October 1 and 4 at the high school.
