LANSING, Mich. (WSYM) - It was a big evening for the Lansing Lugnuts as Saturday marks opening day for the 2018 season.
Ticket prices were brought down to 35 cents and the first pitch moved to 5:35 p.m. because of cold temperatures. 35 cents was the forecasted high for the day.
A block party was held ahead of first pitch.
Fans enjoyed live music, entertainers, inflatables and games.
Lansing Lugnuts players were also on hand, meeting with crowds and signing autographs.
Temperatures near freezing are not stopping fans from having a good time.
“We are here an hour and a half early just so we can get the scarfs, you can't beat the ticket price,” said Jeff Davis, a baseball fan. "I think they have a great special events throughout the year, both of our boys have gone on the field to play catch.”
Heaters were on hand throughout the stadium for fans that need to warm up.
Fireworks were lit off following the baseball game.
