Posted

The Lansing Police Department is investigating a counterfeit bill that was used at the CATA bus station.

A cashier at the CATA station called police around 9 a.m Thursday after a woman tried to buy a bus ticket with a fake $20 bill.

The woman told police she was given the bill as change at a store, and didn't realize it was fake. She was not arrested.

Detectives are now working to track down the bills' origin.
