School is starting soon and that means football season is getting ready to kick off.

Athletes have started training for the season and are often outside practicing in hot weather with full pads and full contact.

It can be dangerous for kids in extreme conditions, so schools need guidelines to follow when it comes to keeping the kids cool, hydrated, and rested.

The Michigan High School Athletic Association has made changes to help coaches and athletes with the hot weather.

Practices with helmets and pads and even full contact are not allowed to be on the same day.
