LANSING, Mich. (WSYM) - A Mid-Michigan robotics team is celebrating after recently winning an all-star award.

The robotics team at Waverly High School, "Error 404," won the rookie all-star award Saturday during a competition at Saginaw Valley State University.

The team partnered with Waverly High and sponsors to deliver students the experience. Students learned how to use different types of machines and tools.

It's all part of the international First Robotics Competition. According to its website, the competition combines the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology.

“Error 404” now qualifies for world championship held in Detroit on April 25 to April 28 but the team must raise $5,000 for just the entry fee alone.

The team has started a Go Fund Me to help cover the costs.
