The St. Johns Police Department is warning drivers about an e-ticket scam targeting local residents.
At least one person received an email issuing them a citation for speeding. The email gives a location for the traffic stop, and has links to pay up. It says the fine must be paid within 72 hours.
The Department says this is a scam. A Police Officer will only hand out speeding tickets in person. If you get an email like this, report it to police.
