LANSING, Mich. — One local organization is seeking help to feed the needy.

The Tri-County Office on Aging needs volunteers to help with food preparation tasks for the Meals on Wheels program for Monday. This is at the Sam and Eva Eyde Central Kitchen on South Cedar Street in Lansing.

"I think it's about stepping up and helping out seniors in our community," said Carl Buonodono with the office. "That's what we're all about, is providing this service and I think as more time goes on we're all seeing the significance of seniors in our community. It's pretty safe to say if we didn't have the volunteers that we have, we wouldn't be able to do what we do."

Last year, Meals on Wheels provided nearly 500,000 meals to seniors in Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties.
