Local mom receives car from auto shop

A woman has a new set of wheels, thanks to a local car repair shop.

FOX 47 News first brought you this story last month.

Ultimate Auto Repair in Jackson County fixed up a Chevy Impala to give to a person in need of a vehicle. And, on Thursday, they surprised Victoria Silvestri, of Napoleon.

Her car was recently totaled in an accident. Silvestri says she's thankful to have transportation to and from work.

"I did cry. I was very thankful. It's amazing to have people who are able to do this and just kind of, help someone out. It's just ... amazing," Silvestri said.

In addition to the car, she was gifted a $300 gas card from RemTek Environmental to get her started.

The repair shop and others involved said they now plan to do this every year.
