Local man arrested for child sexually abusive material

The Michigan State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force along with other police organizations across the country, have arrested a man from Laingsburg on three counts of child sexually abusive material possession.

Jeffrey Drown, 47, from Laingsburg, was taken into custody on Tuesday, November 14 after turning himself in. 
The police started the investigation on a tip. Further investigation led to finding many internet-ready devices inside of Drown's home.

Drown has been charged with three counts of use of a computer to commit a crime and three counts of child sexually abusive material possession. Drown was arraigned on all counts on Nov. 14, 2017, and issued a $10,000 cash or surety bond.

If Drown is convicted he faces up to seven years in prison for each count of using a computer to commit a crime and four years for each count of child sexually abusive material possession.
