State Troopers got in on the holiday spirit Thursday, taking part in the annual Shop with a Hero program.
Nine kids from Holt, Grand Ledge, and Charlotte schools got to have lunch at the State Police Training Academy, followed by a shopping trip to Walmart.
Troopers tell us it helps build relationships in the community and lets children see a different side of police. They encouraged the kids to pick out toys for themselves, as well as gifts for their parents, grandparents, and siblings.
