FOX 47 has confirmed that a local high school was on lockdown due to gunshots.
Jackson High School was put on lockdown Thursday around 1:45 p.m. after bullets hit a couple of school rooms through the windows. There were students inside and fortunately, no one was injured.
The Jackson police believe that the shots originated from the Renaissance Apartments nearby.
School officials originally diverted the buses away form the school, but eventually were able to lift the lockdown and send the kids home on time at 2:20 PM.
