A local church will take time to observe Veterans Day by holding an event to honor those who served the nation on Monday.
A Blessing of the Veterans will take place at South Jackson Community Church on West Kimmel Road.
All veterans who attend will be recognized and all Vietnam veterans will also receive their 50th anniversary commemorative pin.
Also, city and government offices across mid-Michigan are closed today, including the U.S. Postal Service.
