Gov. Whitmer providing update on state’s response efforts to COVID-19

LANSING, Mich. — Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and state Department of Health and Human Services Chief Medical Executive Dr. Joneigh Khaldun are scheduled to provide an update regarding the state’s response efforts to COVID-19 today.

The press conference is set for 11 a.m. in Lansing.

Michigan saw an increase of 18 deaths from coronavirus and 125 cases from the day before, according to new numbers released by the state health department on Tuesday.
According to the state, there are now 5,790 confirmed deaths from COVID-19 and 60,189 cases in Michigan.

Nearly 45,000 people have recovered from the virus, and there are also 9,300 active cases in the state.
