Dozens of parents filled the Leslie School Board's Public Forum. The meeting came after a student made what some are calling a "hit list" last week - which raised safety concerns.
Parents and members of the community expressed their concerns to the school board. Some parents say they are outraged because the district failed to contact them after six kids were named on the list.
During Tuesday nights meeting the Leslie School Board announced that the situation had been mishandled, and apologized for lack of communication.
The school board also told parents that they will continue to work on enhancing their safety policy by forming a parental advisory board to explore better ways to keep students safe.
The Leslie Police Department is investigating the list. The parents of the six students on it pulled their children out of school for the final week of classes.
