LANSING, Mich. — Saturday, over 50 talented metro Detroit kids gathered at Great Lakes Crossing Outlets to compete to be the 2020 Mini Master Model Builder. This 3rd annual Mini Brick Factor event included kids aged 6-11 who have a love of all things LEGO. The competition was narrowed down to 10 finalists and then after a final timed build contest, 10 year old Blake M. from Oxford was crowned winner.
For the first phase of the competition, kids had 15 minutes to build their favorite animal. The 10 finalists then had 15 minutes to build their favorite character. Blake, the 2020 Mini Master Model Builder, showed enormous creativity by building a llama and his favorite superhero to win the contest. He will be invited to attend various build events throughout the year to assist our Master Model Builder. All contestants received a participation prize and the top 10 received 2 annual passes.
“It is amazing to see the passion and excitement kids have building with LEGO bricks,” says General Manager Hayley Anderson. “It was so exciting to see the unique creations the contest showcased, and we can’t wait for the new perspectives that the Mini Master Model Builder will apply throughout the year.”
