League calls for stop to gun bills in Michigan

The league of women voters put together a forum to discuss the recent concealed gun bills.

The main theme in tonight's forum was ways to protect children from gun violence. According to Michigan Coalition Against Gun Violence 3,800 children were killed or injured last year.

They say the new bills would put kids in vulnerable situations in places that are usually the safest for children, like schools.

Former Michigan State Police officer Scott Nichols says this bill would only create more confusion and chaos for officers responding to active shooter calls.

The state house still has to vote on the bills.
