JACKSON, Mich. — The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the 38th graduating class of the Leadership Jackson program. Leadership Jackson is the professional development program run by the Chamber to support our up and coming business and community leaders and give them to the tools to succeed and thrive in their business while helping lead our community. Throughout the seven-month course, participants learn from community, education, business, and government leaders on topics ranging from Business Communication and Teamwork, to Personal Branding and Nonprofit Governance. Participants are also required to take part in learning opportunities outside of the classroom. This year the class graduated 34 participants, the largest class in the program’s history.

For the second-year groups chose a nonprofit organization to partner with to plan and execute a service project. The nonprofits picked this year were the Jackson School of the Arts, Junior Achievement, DisAbility Connections and the Jackson YMCA. This was a great learning and a real hands experience for our participants to know and understand the needs and the innerworkings of a local nonprofit. We hope these experiences offer confidence to find their passion in support of the community.

Matt Swartzlander, Director of Events and Legislative Affairs for the Jackson County Chamber and program director shared, “The Leadership program aims to build Jackson’s next generation of business and community leaders, if this class has anything to say, Jackson has a bright future because of these exceptionally talented professionals.
