LCC to provide campus updates following credible threat

UPDATE:

A Lansing Community College student is in custody after police say he made a threat to another student. 31-year-old David Tomaszycki was charged Wednesday in Eaton County with making a false terrorism report and maliciously using a telecommunications device.

LCC Police tell News 10 the threat was sent via text to another student early Wednesday morning. That student then contacted the Eaton County Sheriff's Office.

LCC Police tell us the student who made the threat did have a weapon, but didn't give specific details as to what type. The student was arrested without incident.

The student has not been arraigned yet. We will be sure to update you once we learn the charges and the student's name.

Breaking News:

Lansing Community College Police Department received information that a student was making threatening statements via text at 12:52 a.m. Sept. 5, 2018. LCC Police and Michigan State Police investigated the incident and a suspect was taken into custody at 3:56 a.m. Sept. 5, 2018.

There will be a safety update around 10:30 Wednesday morning.
