LANSING, Mich. — LCC is set to host its Women’s History Maker’s Luncheon and Awards as part of its participation in the year-long national initiative, 400 Years of African American History Commission Act. The event takes place 12 p.m. Friday, March 15 in the Michigan Room, 1st floor of the Gannon Building at the Downtown Campus.
LCC is honoring and celebrating African American women for their contributions to the community and their uniqueness as role models and change agents. The award recipients are Dr. Eva Evans, Community History Maker Award; State Representative Sarah Anthony, Emerging History Maker Award, and Shirley Rodgers/posthumously/Campus History Maker Award.
LCC has joined the national Act to showcase and highlight the many ways African Americans are interwoven in the fabric of this nation.
