LCC coach on the verge of history

LANSING, Mich. — LCC Men’s Basketball Coach, Mike Ingram will be coaching what could become his 600th career win 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 at the Gannon Gym on the Downtown Campus of Lansing Community College. Coach Ingram and the Stars will take on the Vikings of Glen Oaks Community College.

Ingram served as LCC’s assistant coach in 1988 when the Men's team won the NJCAA National Championship, then taking over as head coach in the 1990-91 season and has coached his teams to 4th place, 5th place, 6th place, and 8th place National NJCAA tournament finishes, while leading his teams to 19 MCCAA Western Conference Championships.

Ingram was named Region XII Coach of the Year in 1990-91 and 2005-06, 2014-2015, 2015-2016 and has received the Western Conference Coach of the Year award 19 times. He has coached numerous All-Americans and was inducted into the NJCAA Men’s Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2017.

Mike is married to Phebeit and has four children, Mike, Layne, Justin and Jocelyn.
