An environmental group has filed a lawsuit over the oil pipeline that runs through the straits of Mackinac.

The National Wildlife Federation claims the federal government's emergency plan in case of a spill does not account for the impact on plants, animals and the shoreline.

Enbridge owns the pipeline and says it is safe.

Last week, the company released documents saying the worst-case scenario for a spill would be a billion-dollar cleanup.
