A company is suing the Meridian Magnesium plant in Eaton Rapids over cleanup costs following explosions and a fire at the plant earlier this year.
WOOD-TV reports Illinois-based Heritage Crystal Clean, Inc. says Magnesium Products of America owes more than $1.3 million following the May 2, 2018 fire.
Heritage-Crystal Clean, Inc. is claiming a breach of contract with MPA.
HCC says it was hired to clean up chemicals following the fire that forced Ford to shut down production of the Ford F-150 pick up truck for a few weeks.
According to the lawsuit filed in federal court in Grand Rapids Monday, MPA says it has not received enough cash from its insurer to pay HCC.
The cause of the fire was ruled underdetermined by investigators.
