LANSING, Mich. — State Senator Jim Ananich said the state should forgive days that will extend the school year because Michigan was in a state of emergency.
The state allows school districts six cancelled days because of conditions beyond their control.
Once school districts use all of their snow days they can ask for an extra three days from the state superintendent.
Ananich said he is looking into many options to help schools, including wiping the entire slate clean.
