State lawmakers approved a spending plan Tuesday that cuts funding to planned parenthood.
The fifty seven billion dollar budget bans the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services from doing business with any organization that performs abortion.
The only exception would be if there is no alternative providers in the same county.
A spokesperson for the planned parenthood advocates of Michigan calls it an attack on patients.
Governor Rick Snyder's office says the planned parenthood de-funding may be unconstitutional.
His press secretary says the provision will be dealt with when it gets that far.
