UPDATE: Law enforcement have suspect in custody after search

EATON COUNTY, Mich. — UPDATE:

A man arrested following a long search and standoff in Eaton County Tuesday is being held on a felony warrant.

Eaton County Sheriff's Office has identified the man as 50-year-old Ray Anthony Williams.

Sheriff's deputies were called to the 2200 block of E. Five Point Highway east of Charlotte just before 2 p.m. for a report of a man acting erratically.

They say he ran when they tried talking to him.

Deputies set up a perimeter after hearing two gunshots.

Officers from several departments as well as a state police helicopter searched the area before determining he'd gone back home.

He surrendered peacefully after several hours of negotiations.

Eaton County 911: Law Enforcement are searching for a subject in the area of E Five Point Hwy and Brookfield who may be armed and dangerous.

Area residents should remain inside with their doors locked.

Please do not travel to the area until an all clear is given.
