LANSING, Mich. — Mark Latunski, 50, was back in court on Wednesday in connection with the murder of 25-year-old Kevin Bacon.

Latunski's lawyer submitted an insanity plea and the judge ordered a competency test.

The test will be administered by The Center for Forensic Psychiatry.

In documents submitted by Latunski's defense it was cited that Latunski was found incompetent in one other case from six years ago, and then found competent for trial regarding kidnapping his own kids in April of 2014.

According to Latunski's defense team, they believe he is not competent. They said that Latunski is fixated on a conspiracy theory involving multiple nations and involves multiple trust accounts.

They said Latunski believes he is Edgar Thomas Hill, and that at the time of his birth he was given a false identity of Mark Latunski to protect him.

Defense also said there is cause to believe that Latunski is mentally unstable because he has had four prior mental health commitments, all of which were ordered by judges.

Defense stated that Latunski's husband Jamie Arnold left him because of increasing mental health issues and fearing for his own life.

Latunski is facing charges of open murder and mutilation of a human body.

The plea comes after gruesome details from court records revealed how Latunski says he killed Bacon.

Michigan State Police say they are also revisiting two recent incidents at Latunski's home in October and November over concerns about two other men.

The FBI is also assisting in the investigation.

One of their main focuses now is making sure there are no other victims.

Latunski is scheduled for a preliminary exam at 2 p.m. on Jan. 14.
