Last day for Obamacare enrollment

Time is running out for people to sign up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act. The deadline is tonight at midnight (Tuesday morning 3 a.m. Pacific Time).

More than 11.5 million people have signed up for insurance through the exchanges as of January 10th. Those who sign up today will have coverage beginning March 1.

President Donald Trump and Republicans are vowing to repeal and replace the law but experts say if that happens there will be a lengthy transition period. While the future of health care is uncertain, health experts say it is best to lock in coverage now if you need it. "Pretty much everyone's in agreement, people who sign up for health insurance in 2017, will have a contract in place, and will be able to keep and use their insurance for 2017" says Elizabeth Colvin, Health Insurance Enrollment Director for Foundation Communities.

Although premiums are up significantly this year, more than 8 in 10 customers get subsidies, and more than half qualify for extra help with deductibles and co pays.

Financial experts warn consumers not to put off health problems that need to be resolved. To sign up, go to healthcare.gov or call 1-800-318-2596.
