The wife of former gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar is named in a federal lawsuit against Michigan State University.

The complaint was filed July 4th, 2018 by 21 year-old Alaina Bamfield, who sent a victim impact statement to be read during Nassar's sentencing hearing in Eaton County Court last February.

She says she was 13 when Nassar abused her under the guise of medical treatment for back, neck and hip pain.

Bamfield claims she was referred to Nassar by his then-wife, physician assistant Stephanie Nassar who she saw at Lansing Pediatric Associates. Mrs. Nassar filed for divorce last year.

More than 300 others have accused Nassar of sexual abuse.

In May, MSU settled a federal civil lawsuit for $500 million. $75 million has been set aside to cover lawsuits filed after the deal.
