"Do you understand, sir, the maximum possible consequence you could receive if you are convicted of each of these counts?" asks Eaton county judge Judi O'Neil.
"Yes, your honor," responded Larry Nassar in turn.
Nassar carried a bible with him into his arraignments on Thursday. It was next to him as he was read every one of the 22 charges filed against him that carry a life sentence.
A sentence attorney general Bill Schuette said on Wednesday his prosecutors will work to make sure Nassar never gets out of.
Prosecutors also filed 14 backup counts of third degree criminal sexual assault in case the jury doesn't convict him of the more serious charges.
The complaints come from 9 women who claim Nassar sexually assaulted them during medical treatments.
His attorneys entered a plea of not guilty.
He will be back in court on March 9th for his preliminary exam in Ingham county court. There isn't one scheduled yet in Eaton county court.
