It will be designed into a T-intersection to allow for better traffic flow. The intersection will also receive new pavement, curbs, traffic signals and a pedestrian crossing to connect an existing trail to Ella Sharp Park.

Construction crews will begin setting up street closures and detour signs the week of Monday, June 3.

During construction, Fourth Street will be closed to through traffic, but will remain open to local traffic so that residents and business patrons can access driveways located in the work-zone.

The access point to the middle school located at Parkside parking lot will be the driveway from West Avenue.

The Engineering Division will be sending out construction updates to residents and businesses throughout the project and residents are advised to follow detours and prepare for street closures when driving through this part of Jackson.
