Lansing woman's death under investigation

The Lansing Police Department and Michigan State Police crime lab are investigating a woman's death.

LPD found an unresponsive woman in the home during a medical call Friday in the 1500 block of Massachusetts Avenue in Lansing.

The 48-year-old woman was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to a press release.

A 55-year-old man who was in the home is now in custody and considered a person of interest.

Police are considering this to be an isolated incident that poses no threat to the public at this time.

The death investigation is still in the preliminary stages.
