Non-stop flights to the nation's capital from Lansing will be offered for the next five years.
American Airlines gained federal approval to continue the service from Lansing's Capital Region International Airport to Washington, D.C. until 2023.
Nearly 2,000 people submit letters of support for the Lansing to Washington flights to the Federal Aviation Administration.
The service started in the spring of 2016.
