Lora Painter talks with teachers at Riddle Elementary School in Lansing to find out how they incorporate movement and nutrition lessons in their classrooms.

This month, a musical nutrition performance called "Jump with Jill" is visiting schools in mid-Michigan to help educate kids on nutrition. Incorporating this special pep rally is part of the Lansing School District's larger effort to help students of all socio-economic levels develop healthy habits early in life.

Literacy teacher Andrea Valo said, "The kids need it and the kids love it. If you can get them moving and learning about how to take care of themselves better they love that and they are very engaged with that."

The Lansing School District also has partnerships with community groups to help bring fitness and nutrition to students: To learn more click here.
