While many students are soaking up the sun on spring break, a group of Lansing students are using the time to make a difference.

Dozens of students from Lansing Catholic High School are fixing up homes in Montgomery, Alabama. It's part of a national program called Rebuilding Together.

This week, the Lansing students took on more than half a dozen service projects. W.R. Dudley, a junior at Lansing Catholic High School said, "This is an opportunity to do something that's good for the community and be with your friends and have fun doing it."

Jarred Reyes, a junior at Lansing Catholic High School said, "It's just the people and just making a difference in their life, working on their houses. In the beginning it's kind of hard, but towards the end when you get it done and finished, it's just good to see a smile on the homeowner's face."

The organization is holding it's National Rebuilding Month in April aimed at rebuilding communities.
