LANSING, Mich. — Lansing has settled a lawsuit filed over construction of a road running through Ormond Park, connecting Cesar Chavez Avenue to Groesbeck Golf Course. A group called Friends of Ormond Park sued in 2017, claiming the road would damage the park and cause environmental harm.
The settlement agreed to on February 17 calls for the city to pay $10,000 to Friends of Ormond Park and to make several improvements to the park. Those include planting new trees, installing playground equipment and a basketball court and putting safety-related signs at the entrance and along the road.
